Lance J. Descourouez is an international business consultant and training specialist. He maintains
a private practice in Silicon Valley, California, specializing in cross-cultural consulting,
organization development, and executive coaching for both public and private-sector
organizations.
Lance has over 20 years of intercultural training and management consulting experience
in 32 countries, across three continents and within 35 industries. Lance specializes in
organizational assessment, multinational team building, cross-cultural communication, global
leadership, team decision-making and conflict management. In addition to U.S. managers and
expatriates, Lance Descourouez has trained numerous foreign nationals on U.S. business practices,
communication styles and multi-national team-building.

Before beginning his own successful practice, Lance Descourouez was the director of intercultural
communications and organization development at Geonexus Communications in Palo Alto, California.
Under Lance Descourouez's leadership, the Geonexus team provided worldwide expatriate training
programs and intercultural management instruction for clients such as Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard,
Intel, The Gap, and Levi Strauss & Co. The focus of the training and instruction programs took
him to 15 countries in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Lance Descourouez lived in Washington D.C. before locating to Northern California, and was the
director of training for the O.D. firm, Horizons Consulting Group, Inc. Lance also worked for seven
years as a program manager and training specialist for the Business Council for International
Understanding Institute (BCIU), the American University.
Lance Descourouez has a master's of science degree in Organization Development provided jointly by
the American University and the National Training Labs, and a master's degree in Cross-cultural
Psychology from the American University, Washington D.C.
