Built the company's training and consulting practice from less than $40,000 in annual sales to over 3.5 million. Expanded the business through strategic sales and integrated product development. Responsibilities included day-to-day operations; developing company strategy; client development; consulting services/products; overall training and developing staff and consultants in the areas of project management, new business development, cross-cultural communication, instructional design and cost controls. Clients included Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Cadence Design Systems, Hewlett Packard, Intel, Fujitsu, The Gap, Levi Strauss & Company, Price Waterhouse and National Semiconductor.

Program Manager and Training Specialist
Designed, developed, implemented and evaluated cross-cultural training programs for approximately 5000 corporate executives and their families for 53 countries across three continents. Worked extensively with such companies as AT&T, AIG, Avon, DuPont, Exxon, Eastman Kodak, GE, GM, Mobil, PPG, Polaroid, P&G, Sears, and Union Carbide.

Responsibilities included group process training, professional development, service learning, international exchange, and counseling. Program involved living with 192 families, in 22 countries across North America, Western Europe, and Asia.

  • Organizational assessment and systems intervention for ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES (Sunnyvale, CA- HQ). The intervention included multicultural interviews and company feedback sessions, as well as team building for employees in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan; Sunnyvale, California and Austin, Texas.
  • Corporate integration for ENCOMPAS, INC. Developed program and provided executive coaching to integrate 3 companies in Northern California. Services included engagement on succession planning; culture change and assimilation; business process redesign and execution.
  • Organizational culture change program for FOSTER FARMS DAIRY in Modesto, CA. The program included employee interviews and focus groups, data compellation and analysis, as well as a company-wide presentation and facilitation of discussion with on-going consulting services.
  • Technology transfer for CHEVRON: Kuwait and American engineers working together to build a processing plant. The training involved cross-cultural communication, technology transfer, conflict mediation and project management. Work was conducted in Kuwait and 6 cities in the U.S.
  • Cross-cultural training for senior management at PRUDENTIAL LIFE INSURANCE & FINANCIAL SERVICES to recruit, retain and manage Asian and Hispanic personnel. The workshop included managing host nationals, international HR practices, workforce assignment and employee development for Hispanic and Asian populations in the U.S.
  • Organizational assessment and systems intervention for the global sales force of MALLINCKRODT MEDICAL. The intervention included multicultural teambuilding for ten countries represented from Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
  • Cross-cultural training in Puerto Rico for JOHNSON AND JOHNSON, HR, U.S. Program included conflict mediation and group process training to provide conclusions and recommendations for recruitment, employee development, training, and assignment of workforce in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
  • Lecture and training workshop on "Multicultural Teambuilding For U.S. Embassies" for newly acquired diplomats at UNITED STATES INFORMATION AGENCY (USIA).
  • Conducted an organizational assessment and co-facilitated the "Total Quality Management" training for the U.S. MARSHALS SERVICE, U.S. Department of Justice. Training included the principles of total quality and continuous improvement as well as MBTI and teambuilding.
  • Strategic planning for the NATIONAL HISPANIC LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE. Program included SWOT analysis, conflict mediation, and teambuilding.
